The name of this book intrigued me as I am a soup lover. Not to be disappointed, I have to say this is now one of my favorite books. I love the concept of soup sharing, the friendly personalities of the four authors that come across the pages and mostly, the diversity of delicious and nutritious recipes. What is a soup club you ask? It is a group of soup lovers who simply, make soup to share. In this book, on a rotating basis, one person a week is the soup maker. She makes the soup, gathers the additional items to go along with it, be it bread, sour cream or what have you and delivers the soup to the other families. Is that wonderful or what?
The Soup Club Cookbook shares how to create a soup club with plenty of delicious big batch recipes broken down into categories: meat, fish or vegetarian. In addition, there are such splendid recipes for breads grains and pastas, snacks and much more. The first recipe I tried was Carrot Coconut Soup… Oh my, I recommend that one for sure. Winter Minestrone is absolutely a keeper as is Borscht. I will be making a lot more of these decadent delights, of that I can assure you. I highly recommend this book for learning about the concept and a road map for creating your own Soup Club, or simply a good reference for your own personal family.
I received this book free from Bethany Books and the opinion is my own.
