Veganism on your Spiritual Path By Doreen Virtue and Becky Black M.F.T,
This almost pocket sizes compact 5 chapter book shares the basic beliefs of why it is symbiotic to go meatless when on a
spiritual journey stating the views of influential philosophers and spiritual leaders such as Seventh Day Adventists, Genesis 1:29, Gandhi, Thoreau and Einstein, sharing the beliefs that animal slaughter is 'inhumane and unnecessary'.
The authors share the different types of vegetarianism, environmental concerns of consuming meats, ethical
considerations of the treatment of animals and uses of leather furs, silk and feathers. The authors go in detail about health concerns of consuming animal products and suggest that you become aware of your feelings when you consume
animal products and suggest you will desire it less and less as you progress in your spiritual journey.
Life force is a subject addressed in the book and the authors explain what will effect the life force of foods and several
examples of how to make the switch and how the results of living a meatless world changes attitude, clarity and clairvoyance. Included, in Doreen style are affirmations inter-dispersed throughout the book in appropriate places.
Finally there is clarification of popular myths 'debunked' and a final chapter on eating wholesomely in your home and out.
All and all it is a simple book, and good for
beginners. Someone more advanced in any form of Vegan-ism or Vegetarianism will
most likely find it not very inspiring. But it is a quick read and I do
recommend it for anyone considering making the change to Vegetarian or Vegan for
