When I ordered this book I knew it was going to
something unique and I was pleasantly greeted by this absolutely one of a kind cookbook. I do think it is perhaps more of a book on ancient wisdom than a cook book, and it is totally appropriate. It is a wonderful symbiotic relationship between mother and daughter and a delightful dance of mystical experience and ‘physical sustenance’.
Denise Lynn explores your cellular relationship with food, be it past life, ancestral, or repressed memories. She shares that the journey
food takes from where roots take up nutrients in whatever origin they may be, to the essence of the locality, to the attitude of the farmer, to the source of the cooking vessel, to the love and intent of the cook and finally to the gratitude of the dining experience at the table. Food is an integral part of life, and with additional positive energy flowing through our experience, the more we consume in addition to familiar nutrients.
For those of you who understand that life is energy, I was made aware of and now I comfortably take the time to add positive
energy into my food preparation. By energy I mean essence and love, not so much effort. I use pleasant thoughts and prepare with gratitude and it really does make a difference. It’s funny how that makes food taste better doesn’t it? When I am in the process of helping my clients understand digestion, one of the subjects I bring up is the anticipation, energy and attitude of the dining table and this book absolutely takes it to the next level. We digest so much better when we have a sacred space, release tension, eat slowly,
turn off the TV and celebrate the food. This book shares just that, and is worth reading, if only to help you appreciate among other tidbits, a little of Buddhist philosophy.
Add to the mix Meadow’s appetizing eclectic recipes from around the world and couple that with photography which will truly make you salivate and you know you have a keeper. Her knowledge of food and spices is impressive and solid. Everything I have made has been well received. There is not an overabundance of recipe options; however, it is an appropriate amount for the content.
I highly recommend this book that I received from Hay House.
